Min Xin Lights Off for Earth Hour 2024 to Encourages Public Engagement in Protecting the Environment
The World Wildlife Fund (WWF) held the "Earth Hour" environmental event on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 8:30 PM to 9:30 PM. The event aimed to encourage people to switch off unnecessary lights and appliances and support sustainable lifestyles. The focus of the event was on climate change and biodiversity loss issues, urging everyone to seize this moment and collectively address environmental challenges to protect the ecosystem.
Responding actively to the "Earth Hour" initiative, Min Xin Holdings Limited and Min Xin Insurance Company Limited have signed the pledge to call on all its employees to participate wholeheartedly, encouraging them to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute their efforts towards the protection of the environment. We recognize that Earth Hour is not merely about turning off lights for an hour, but also about contributing to the environment, fulfilling social responsibilities and, simultaneously, demonstrating our commitment of environmental protection to all staff.
At 8:30 PM on March 23, the buildings lining Victoria Harbour gradually dimmed their lights, with nearly 4,000 companies, organizations, and buildings across Hong Kong joining the event by switching off non-essential lights and appliances for one hour.
Sustaining the spirit of Earth Hour requires persistent and collective efforts towards environmental protection. Given the crucial role of the business sector in driving Hong Kong's economic development, Min Xin will engage with other sustainable businesses on environmental activities, making Hong Kong a leading sustainable city in Asia.
